Enid Blyton's The Astonishing Ladder.
Macmillan and Co First Edition, First Reprint 1951. Pale yellow board with blue and red detailing. Fully illustrated in green, blue, black and red by Eileen A Soper. Also in several other colours by the original child owner using crayon and pencil.
Condition: Scuffing and wear to edges. Some discolouration to boards. Orange crayon mark on back. The original owner has quite neatly added some extra colours to the illustrations and marked, in soft pencil, the stories they have read. Some pencil letters to first page and a '3' written in pen. A lovely piece of social history.
