This book was given as a gift during World War II and was more than likely subject to paper rationing as a result of the 1942 Book Production War Economy Agreement which would have made this an especially treasured gift. The dust jacket encourages readers to listen to the London news on the radio for updates from the Home Front. A fascinating piece of social history and a beautiful book into the bargain.
