1944 First Penguin Edition. Printed for the fist time in Penguin during WW2. Printed on thin paper due to the paper shortages of the time. Very rare. This likely helped somebody through a very difficult time. Inscribed on the first page by the original owner. Fascinating piece of social history.
Condition: Very old tape holding the cover on. Back page used to be held on by very old tape but this has come off and the page is detached. Spine very faded and worn. Pages slightly tanned. Some minor tears.
