A fascinating and highly aesthetic old school book from over 100 years ago! Inscribed by the previous owners and 'improved' with their ink scrawlings here and there. The book itself consists of a list of authors with a portrait (in most cases) and extracts from their writing. An important piece of social history in its own right although tragically devoid of women.

Condition: Cover worn with age, especially the spine. Pages still intact and holding together. Some tanning and foxing consistent with this book's tremendous age.
