Selections from Tennyson's Idylls.

Ginn and Co 1957. Hardback. Green canvas board with gold gilt details.

This little book was produced for University level study and was bought from the famous Foyles bookshop in Charing Cross according to the charming bookseller's stamp inside the front cover. It contains introductory essays on Tennyson's life, his poetry and blank verse. The Idylls of the King are all reproduced and thoroughly and thoughtfully annotated by a previous owner in pencil throughout. Further notes are included at the back along with sample essay questions and subjects and a gorgeous woodcut of Tennyson. A truly beautiful book.
